Energy Efficiency Renewable Energy (EERE) - Industrial Technologies Program (ITP) Mining Industry of the Future Grand Challenge Technology Concepts for the Mining Industry: The purpose of this announcement is to offer interested parties the opportunity to comment on the attached draft Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA). You are invited to submit questions/comments by close of business on February 20, 2004. All requests for an explanation or interpretation of any part of the announcement must be submitted through the "Submit Question" feature of the DOE Industry Interactive Procurement System (IIPS) at http://e-center.doe.gov. Locate the announcement on IIPS and then click on the "Submit Question" button. Enter required information. Questions submitted as well as the government's response to these questions may be viewed by using the "View Questions" feature in IIPS. The Government will not respond to questions submitted by telephone, e-mail, or in person at any time. DOE plans to issue the final Funding Opportunity Announcement on or about March 1, 2004. The final FOA will be open for application submission for a period of 90 days. PLEASE NOTE THAT APPLICATIONS SHOULD NOT BE SUBMITTED AT THIS TIME. THIS IS A PERIOD FOR PUBLIC COMMENT ONLY. ALL QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS SHOULD BE SUBMITTED THROUGH THE IIPS WEBSITE. The National Energy Technology Laboratory, on behalf of the Energy Efficiency Renewable Energy (EERE)-ITP Industrial Technologies Program (ITP), is seeking cost-shared research and development applications for technologies which will reduce energy consumption, enhance economic competitiveness, and reduce environmental impacts of the domestic mining industry.
