Additional Information on Eligibility
Eligible applicants are those who are local, indigenous Kenyan organizations which are fully registered in the country. An indigenous organization is one that originated and is located in the geographic area to which it provides services, serves the population located in the geographic area and has a majority of key organizational staff (senior, mid-level, and support) comprised of persons from Kenya. Organizations include: local indigenous public nonprofit organizations, local indigenous private nonprofit organizations, local indigenous universities, local indigenous colleges, local indigenous research institutions, local indigenous hospitals, local indigenous community-based organizations, and local indigenous faith-based organizations. Applications may only be submitted by indigenous Kenyan organizations that meet the following criteria: - Provide documentation that the organization is incorporated or legally organized under the laws of, and have its principal place of business in Kenya. Must be at least 66% beneficially owned by individuals who are citizens or lawfully admitted permanent residents of Kenya. At least 66% of the entity's managerial staff and entire staff must be citizens or lawfully admitted permanent residents of Kenya.
Grant Description
The purpose of this program is to provide technical assistance and funding to local Kenyan indigenous organizations to enable them to continue and expand comprehensive HIV prevention, care and antiretroviral treatment (ART) programs and to ensure sustainable service delivery within Faith-Based Organization (FBO) affiliated sites in the Republic of Kenya.
