Englebright Dam Reach/Narrows Reach Channel Habitat Restoration, Yuba River, Ca: Phase 1 funding is available through the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Anadromous Fish Restoration Program to restore channel habitat in the Englebright Dam Reach (EDR) and Narrows Reach (NR) of the Yuba River (Yuba County), California. Fiscal Year 2011 (Phase 1) funding is to assess restoration alternatives and develop a planning document for the EDR and NR, and develop conceptual designs and initiate permitting for a restoration project. It is anticipated that habitat restoration actions would be incrementally implemented as funding becomes available. The following specific objectives are to be addressed in the proposal: 1. Evaluate multiple alternatives (i.e., in terms of cost-effectiveness, expected longevity, expected benefit to fish, etc.) among various potential habitat restoration activities in the EDR and NR (e.g., increasing spawning habitat through the removal of "shot rock," coupled with implementing different frequencies or amounts of gravel augmentation). 2. Develop a reach-level, habitat restoration planning document including pre- and post-project monitoring for the EDR and NR of the lower Yuba River. 3. Develop conceptual designs and initiate permits for the preferred alternative
