Enhancing Resilience and Economic Growth in Somalia: The purpose of this APS is to disseminate the necessary information to enable prospective applicants to apply for funding to support USAIDs goal to increase the resilience of Somali households and communities to recurrent shocks. This APS will also support analysis of new approaches that seek to develop an innovative and integrated approach and a long-term commitment to improving the adaptive capacity of households and communities. Concept Papers and Applications should also address how proposed projects will sequence, layer, and integrate humanitarian assistance and development interventions in a way that reduces households and communities dependence on humanitarian assistance and facilitates inclusive local economic development. This APS: (1) provides contextually relevant background information; (2) describes the program aim, illustrative expected results, and general and specific programmatic guidance for which Concept Papers and/or Applications will be considered; (3) describes the level of funding available and the process and requirements for submitting Concept Papers and/or Applications; (4) explains the criteria for evaluating and selecting Concept Papers and/or Applications; and (5) refers prospective applicants to related documentation available on the Internet.
