Grant Description
CDCs Procurement and Grants Office has published a funding opportunity announcement entitled, "Enhancing the Environmental Public Health Workforce by Strengthening Environmental Health Academic Programs." Approximately $180,000 will be available in fiscal year 2008 to fund 1 award. The purpose of the program is to improve State, Tribal and local environmental health infrastructure by strengthening and diversifyng accredited environmental health programs; preparing future professionals to enter the environmental public health workforce and educating current professionals in the the core competencies of environmental health along with new and emerging environmental health technologies and methodologies; increasing recruitment, enrollment, retention and graduation rate at accredited environmental health programs; and increasing the number of programs accredited by the National Environmental Health Science and Protection Accreditation Council(NEHSPAC).
