Environmental Contaminants Program on-Refuge contaminant investigation/an assessment of contaminants and management actions on the California condor: In cooperation with the FWS, the University of California Santa Cruz will conduct the study entitled, An assessment of the biological impact of contaminants and management actions that influence the long-term persistence of the California Condor; the project purpose is to synthesize existing data and collect new data on the risks of contaminants to condors, quantify baseline measures of condor survival/reproductive success and develop demographic modeling approaches that estimate how contaminants, global climate change, future habitat suitability and management efforts will impact condor population recovery.
