Environmental Education, Outreach and New Techniques of Diverse Audience: San Diego Audubon will offer nine four-week â¿¿OutdoorExploreâ¿ environmental education programs and two â¿¿OutdoorExplore Family Hikesâ¿ (for a total of thirty-eight program days) to San Diego County elementary and middle school students, providing approximately 1,200 visits to nearby nature spaces. OutdoorExplore! is an after-school enrichment program that introduces students to natural spaces in their local communities and inspires them to develop a stewardship ethic for their neighborhoodâ¿¿s natural environment. Each after-school site will participate in four weekly hikes to nearby-nature spaces located within a short walking distance from their schools. These high-quality,neighborhood field trips teach students about native wildlife, promote community stewardship and conservation activities, and connect children to their neighborhood natural spaces long after the weekly visits have taken place
