Epi-Centers for the Prevention of Healthcare-Associated Infections, Antimicrobial Resistance and Adverse Events Multicenter Expansion of Current Investigation: The CDC Prevention Epicenters Program has been established to develop, implement and evaluate the effectiveness of epidemiologically-based strategies to improve healthcare quality and patient safety. This funding opportunity announcement is designed to utilize the CDC Prevention Epicenters Program to translate basic, epidemiologic and technologic discoveries into new strategies for improving prevention of Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAIs), Antimicrobial Resistance (AR) and other adverse events in all types of healthcare facilities in the United States. All applicable federal laws and policies apply. 3.Special Eligibility Requirements The research activities conducted under program announcement CK11-001 Epi-Centers for the Prevention of Healthcare-Associated Infections, Antimicrobial Resistance and Adverse Events has been established to develop, implement and evaluate the effectiveness of epidemiologically-based strategies to improve healthcare quality and patient safety. The program is composed of two components: 1) Investigator-Initiated Projects designed to develop and test novel HAI prevention strategies, and 2) Prevention Research Emphasis Projects (PREPs), which include the development and implementation of additional HAI prevention research proposals that meet emerging or evolving public health research needs.
