Establish a Vision and Eye Health Surveillance System for the Nation: This funding opportunity announcement (FOA) solicits applications to develop, test, and implement a vision and eye health surveillance system using existing surveys, as well as administrative and electronic data sources. Such a system will be built to provide population estimates of vision loss function, eye diseases, health disparities, as well as barriers and facilitators to access to vision and eye care at the national, state, and community levels. This system will be disseminated and shared with researchers, epidemiologists, decision makers, providers, and other end users for implementation and evaluation of programs aimed to improve the vision and eye health of the nation.
