Evaluation of a Stepped Care Approach for Perinatal Depression Treatment in Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinics: The purpose of this FOA is to: 1) determine the effectiveness of a stepped care approach to reducing depression symptomology and increasing treatment rates; 2) determine the feasibility of implementing a stepped care approach to depression treatment in obstetric clinics; and 3) develop recommendations for implementing best practice strategies for incorporating a stepped-care approach in obstetrics and gynecology clinics. Results of this FOA may inform national guidelines regarding depression care for perinatal women.

Applicants must have the support of one or more obstetric clinics in which the project will be implemented.
The principal investigator of the project must have experience as an investigator or co-investigator in conducting a randomized control trial among pregnant and/or postpartum women, experience conducting clinical research on mental health topics, and experience disseminating the findings in peer-reviewed publication(s).
The applicant must have, as part of the research team, an obstetrician and a mental health specialist (e.g. psychiatrist, psychologist, or counselor with appropriate credentials).
