The Governor of each state and territory has designated a state administrative agency (SAA) to apply for and administer funds from the Department of Homeland Security. Accordingly, the relevant SAA is the only agent eligible to apply for the funds identified in this program announcement. See the FY 2007 Transit Security Program Supplemental Guidance and Application Kit for more information.
Grant Description
The purpose of the FY 2007 TSGP Supplemental is to create a sustainable, risk-based program for the protection of transit systems and the traveling public from terrorism, especially explosives and non-conventional threats that would cause major loss of life and severe disruption. The FY 2007 TSGP Supplemental supports strengthening emergency operations planning and citizen protection capabilities, and assists in addressing the following transit security fundamentals for rail and bus systems:.Protection of high risk/high consequence underwater/underground assets and systems. .Protection of other high risk/high consequence assets and systems that have been identified through system-wide risk assessments. .Use of visible, unpredictable deterrence. .Targeted counter-terrorism training for key front-line staff. .Emergency preparedness drills and exercises. .Public awareness and preparedness ca
