FY 2008 Direct Certification and Verification Program: Eligible applicants are invited to compete for a 2008 Certification and Verification Grant. The Child Nutrition and Wic Reacuthorization Act (ACT) of 2004, P.L. 108-265 provides a one-time appropriation of $9 million to be used to assist States in implementing mandatory direct certification and verification of students' eligibility to receive free and reduced meal benefits in the school nutrition programs.
