The Governor of each State and Territory is required to designate a State Administrative Agency (SAA) to apply for and administer the funds awarded under the Homeland Security Grant Program. The SAA is the only entity eligible formally to apply for these funds.
Grant Description
The Fiscal Year 2008 Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP) integrates the State Homeland Security Program (SHSP), the Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI) program, the Metropolitan Medical Response System (MMRS), and the Citizen Corps Program (CCP). HSGP supports efforts to build and sustain capabilities to achieve the Interim National Preparedness Goal (the Goal) and implement State and Urban Area Homeland Security Strategies. Projects or initiatives that are eligible for funding under this announcement may or may not involve geospatial (GIS) issues.
