Grant Description
Fuel savings, pollutant emissions, and thermal pollution reduction can result from retrofitting diesel-electric locomotive engines with waste heat recovery and conversion technologies. One of the key components needed to convert waste heat into useable energy is represented by specially designed high-pressure heat exchangers. This solicitation is for development and demonstrations of commerically viable, minimally invasive, retrofittable high pressure heat exchanger capable of transforming low-and high-grade locomotive waste heat energy into useable energy.
