FY19 Pilot Safety Culture Assessment on a Passenger Railroad: This is a directed grant to the Short Line Safety Institute (SLSI) to investigate the extent to which SLSI's safety culture assessment process can be adapted and applied to Commuter Operations. SLSI's research-based, rigorous safety culture assessment model has been applied to Class II and Class III freight railroads. FRA seeks to determine whether the model is adaptable to other segments of the railroad industry, like Commuter Operations.
