State dam safety programs in fifty (50) States and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico
Grant Description
The Federal Emergency Management Agency proposes to award fifty-one (51) Grants for an estimated $7,399,100 with 50 States and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico for the development and maintenance of their dam safety programs. By supporting State governments, FEMA hopes to protect the citizens of the United States and Puerto Rico from dam failure. The funds will enable the States and Puerto Rico to take precautions that ensure dam's safety, such as, the development of regulatory authority for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of dams, the undertaking of dam inspections and development of Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) for dams.
