Additional Information on Eligibility
To serve the wide range of expected calls effectively, the entity chosen as the Hotline grant recipient must have expertise about domestic violence and the delivery of services to victims of domestic violence. The staff also must understand the importance of using appropriate linkages with State and local resources to serve callers to the Hotline. The benefits of a highly visible national Hotline to victims and others affected by domestic violence will be directly related to the productive working relationships and coordinated provision of services between and among the Hotline, State and local hotlines, and other services and resources. Faith-based and community organizations that meet eligibility requirements are eligible to receive awards under this funding opportunity announcement. Individuals and foreign entities are not eligible for awards made under this announcement.
Grant Description
The purpose of the National Domestic Violence Hotline (Hotline) is to provide information and referral services, counseling, and assistance to victims of domestic violence, their children and other family members, and others affected by such violence; and enable them to find safety and protection in crisis situations. The successful applicant will be required to provide telephonic assistance on a 24 hours-per-day, seven days-a-week basis throughout the United States, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
