Fiscal year 2004 Instrumentation and Research Support for Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs): This is a set-aside for Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs). The Department of Defense (DoD) announces the availability of the FY 2004 Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) for the DoD Instrumentation and Research Support for HSIs. The Instrumentation Component of the FY 04 BAA aims to enhance science, mathematics and/or engineering education programs and/or research capabilities through the acquisition of equipment and/or instrumentation that will augment existing facilities, enhance curricula or develop new laboratories, programs and capabilities in those areas. Only one instrumentation proposal per institution is allowed. The Research Component of this BAA seeks proposals for basic research in areas of interest to the Army Research Office (ARO). ARO?s research interests are located in Part I.B. of the US Army Research Laboratory BAA, available at http://www.aro.army.mil. Research proposals are limited to two submissions per institution. DoD funds will be awarded via grants. The BAA contains additional information along with instructions for proposal preparation and submission. Proposals must be received at the ARO no later than 4:00 pm local time on Thursday July 8, 2004.
