Grant Description
THERE IS NO "FULL ANNOUNCEMENT" ASSOCIATED WITH THIS NOTICE. This is a Notice of Intent to award a Cooperative Agreement between the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the University of Massachusetts for the purpose of implementing a Fish Passage Engineering Training Program. This Single Source Award is being made in accordance with Department of the Interior Policy 505 DM 2 2.14 B(4), which allows for award without competition to an applicant who is uniquely qualified to perform the activity based on location and technical expertise. This activity is being carried out to establish an engineering degree program specialty in fish passage to provide for expertise and exchange of services in terms of training, research and field support. Substantial involvement on the part of the Service is anticipated for the successful completion of the objectives to be funded. In particular, the Service will be responsible for: developing and teaching two courses in Fish Passage Engineering during the 2010-2011 semester and will recruit, hire and train one graduate student, enrolled in the Fish Passage Engineering graduate program, through the Service Student Career Experience Program.
