Fish and Wildlife Management Assistance: Funds under this award are to assist the Hoopa Valley Tribe in ongoing efforts to resolve water-related conflicts in the Klamath Basin. The funds also help the US FWS fulfill tribal trust obligations to the tribe. The Secretary of the Interior signed agreements on April 6, 2016 that requires Klamath Basin stakeholders to work in good faith over the next year to try and resolve water-related disputes in the Klamath Basin. These efforts are expected to occur throughout 2016 and 2017, and possibly beyond and the aim is to resolve long-standing conflicts in the Klamath Basin related to water availability and impacts on fisheries in the Klamath Basin. This award is made under the authority of: Fish and Wildlife Act of 1956, as amended, 16 U.S.C. 742a-742j.
