Fly fishing event to mentor underserved Portland metro youth: Funds under this award are to be used to provide an opportunity to African-American/Black and Hispanic youth in the greater Portland Metropolitan area to experience the sport of fly fishing. The objectives are that the participants will gain a greater understanding of the mission of USFWS, begin to appreciate conservation ethos and have and enjoy Nature. Members of the USFWS Recruitment team will be available to provide information on career opportunities, internships and volunteer information. Members of the Youth Conservation Corps will attend to provide leadership, guidance, support and mentorship to the participants.
