Friends Initiative: The National Wildlife Refuge Association is the only national non-governmental conservation organization whose mission is to directly support the FWS' National Wildlife Refuge System. The NWRA has worked for decades to support refuges and their Friends groups around the country through conferences, workshops and support programs. The NWRA's extensive experience and understanding of refuge programs provides a unique opportunity to build Friends capacity through cooperative efforts. NWRA staff is more knowledgeable than any other organization and has greater experience working with hundreds of refuge Friends organizations to support their work.
