Fuels Management and Conservation: Best Management Practices for Park Resources: NPS is charged with managing the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area (SMMNRA) in a manner which will preserve and enhance scenic, natural, and cultural values while providing for the recreational and educational needs of the visiting public. Therefore, the purpose of this Task Agreement is to continue that participation on collaborative fire management projects that implement the best management practices (BMPs) to conserve natural and cultural resources on federal and non-federal lands within and adjacent to the SMMNRA.
