GP CESU: Ethnographic Overview & Assessment of Camp Mueller - CUVA: This announcement is to provide public notice of the National Park Service's intention to award financial assistance for the following project activities with Trustees of Indiana University, Eppley Institute for Parks and Public Lands. The assessment will review and summarize existing ethnographic data for people and resources associated with the park; evaluate and identify data gaps, information derived primarily from existing archival and published materials and supplemented with ethnographic interviewing of knowledgeable community consultants. Results will include development of a historic context focusing on how Camp Mueller related to the struggle of Civil Rights within the African-American community. Results of this study and connections with the community will assist the park in interpretation related to education, museum exhibits, history events of African-American involvement with the valley and its role in the struggle for Civil Rights by expanding the interpretative story.
