Gamma Ray Inspection Technology (GRIT): The Gamma Ray Inspection Technology (GRIT) program seeks transformational approaches to achieving high intensity, tunable, and narrow-bandwidth gamma-ray production, in a compact form factor suitable for transporting the source to where the capability is needed. Such sources have the potential to help discover smuggled nuclear materials in cargo, provide new non-destructive inspection techniques at various scales, and enable new medical diagnostics and therapies.
