Global Health Security Partnership Engagement: Expanding Efforts and Strategies to Protect and Improve Public Health Globally: This Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) supports the implementation of programs and activities that focus on protecting and improving health globally through regional, national, and local partnerships. Its purpose is to support immediate response efforts for the current Ebola outbreak, other infectious disease outbreaks or health threats, and Public Health Emergencies of International Concern (PHEICs). This NOFO will also support systems building through the development, implementation and strengthening of public health surveillance systems, laboratory systems, emergency operation systems, workforce development, and health communications. It is intended to build capacities to prevent, detect, respond, and control infectious disease outbreaks, PHEICs, and other health threats. Projects considered for this NOFO should consider building upon existing public health infrastructure focusing on country priorities that are of mutual interest in order to strengthen regional and national partnerships, public health capacity, leadership, strategic collaboration and integrated health programming. In addition, projects must also consider monitoring and evaluation of overall program performance and the progress of projects or activities.
