Grants for Injury Control Research Centers: CDC s Procurement and Grants Office has published a program announcement entitled, Grants for Injury Control Research Centers . Approximately $4,527,500 will be available in fiscal year 2004 to fund five awards to nonprofit and for-profit organizations. Thus universities, colleges, research institutions, hospitals, other public and private organizations, faith-based organizations, tribal organizations, state, tribal, and local health departments, and small, minority and/or women-owned businesses are eligible for grants. Non-applicant institutions should provide evidence of a collaborative relationship with an academic institution. The purpose is to support (1) injury prevention and control research on priority issues (2) To integrate, in the context of a national program, the disciplines of epidemiology, medicine (3) To define the injury problem (4) Provide technical assistance to injury prevention and control programs within a geographic region.
