This is a Notice of Intent to award this agreement as a single source to Wyoming Game and Fish Department. Wyoming Game and Fish has the legal authority to assist the US Fish and Wildlife Service with implementation of the Grizzly Bear Recovery Plan. The recipient, Wyoming Game and Fish, will complete bear management and research actions in Wyoming on grizzly bears, involving outreach and education to the public and capture, relocation and monitoring of grizzly bears as necessary to minimize bear/human conflicts.
Grant Description
This synopsis is the full announcement. The tasks to be performed under this agreement are as follows: The recipient, Wyoming Game and Fish, will complete bear management actions in Wyoming on grizzly bears, involving outreach and education to the public and capture, relocation and monitoring of grizzly bears as necessary to minimize bear/human conflicts. This Single Source Award is being made in accordance with Department of the Interior Policy 505 DM 2.14 B Unique Qualifications - The applicant is uniquely qualified to perform the activity based upon a variety of demonstrable factors such as location, property ownership, voluntary support capacity, cost-sharing ability, if applicable, technical expertise, or other such unique qualifications which allows for award without competition to an applicant. Wyoming Game and Fish is the only state agency that has the legal authority to manage grizzly bears in Wyoming and to assist with implementation of the Grizzly Bear Recovery Plan. Wyoming Game and Fish is the only entity with jurisdiction and authority to manage grizzly bears in Wyoming and is responsible for responding and managing human/bear conflicts in Wyoming. NO other agency or organization has the legal responsibility, legal authority, management experience, or organizational capacity to capture and handle nuisance grizzly bears. This funding is to assist the Wyoming Game and Fish Department in their implementation of grizzly bear recovery efforts.
