Grizzly bear assimilated diets using stable isotope analysis: Establish a program whereby all grizzly bears handled in the Northwest will have blood and hair samples collected. Those samples are to be processed and analyzed for stable isotopes, particularly carbon, nitrogen, and sulfur when appropriate, to determine assimilated diet. The investigator will be responsible for coordinating the analyses and providing the raw data as well as the estimated diets to the submitting biologists.
