Eligible applicants that can apply for this funding opportunity are listed below: County/Local Public Health Member Associations Eligible applicants under this program announcement are limited to county/local public health member associations that have the capability to reach a broad constituency of public health officials and have HIV prevention as one of the association's priority issues. It would be beneficial if the association has a mechanism for systematically identifying local perspectives, concerns, and on-the-ground practice realities to aid in formulating and examining local HIV prevention policies and practices. In order to maximize the use of federal funds, the funded organization must have a constituency base that is national in scope.
Grant Description
The purpose of the program is to support information exchange between CDC and county/local public health officials through their member associations and to facilitate information exchange among county/local public health officials. The information exchange will focus on locally effective HIV prevention programs, practices, and policies, including: best practices of HIV/AIDS prevention activities; adapting best practices locally; and implementing effective local HIV prevention policies. This program addresses the Healthy People 2010 Focus Area 13 (HIV) objectives.
