HIV/AIDS support to non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and faith based organizations (FBOs): USAID/Nigeria is finalizing the design of several upcoming procurements to implement its Country Strategic Plan (CSP), 2004-2009. The USAID/Nigeria CSP can be downloaded from USAID?s website at www.usaid.gov.In the SO14 health sector, the USAID/Nigeria Mission is planning to proceed with an Annual Program Statement (APS) for HIV/AIDS support to non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and faith based organizations (FBOs). The umbrella mechanism developed under this APS is to coordinate and build the institutional and programmatic capacity of NGOs and FBOs. This assistance will provide NGOs and FBOs with critically needed technical and management skills as well as a clear strategic direction for an informed, expanded and coordinated community HIV/AIDS response. The funding for the resulting agreement will be up to $15 million over a 5-year period. The Mission anticipates that the APS will be posted in early August 2004.
