- CDCs Procurement and Grants Office has published a program announcement entitled HIV Community-Based Prevention Projects for the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the United States Virgin Islands. Approximately $1,300,000 will be available to fund 12 awards to non-governmental, non-profit, and faith-based organizations located in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico or the United States Virgin Islands. The purpose of the program is twofold: (1) to develop and implement effective community-based HIV prevention programs, and (2) to promote collaboration and coordination of HIV prevention efforts among community-based organizations, health departments, and private agencies. The anticipated funding award date is July 31, 2003.
