Haiti Rehabilitation and Reintegration of Persons with Disabilities Program: The U.S. Agency for International Development in Haiti intends to issue a request for applications (RFA) for qualified organizations to implement a Rehabilitation and Reintegration of Persons with Disabilities Program. The goal of the program is to rehabilitate and reintegrate into society persons with disabilities due to the earthquake, while building the capacity of governmental and non-governmental institutions to sustainably and effectively support persons with disabilities in the future. USAID seeks to support four (4) components: Component 1: Establishment or strengthening of service centers to increase access to a full range of services for people with disabilities. Component 2: Training of health staff, including rehabilitation technicians, prosthesis/orthotics, and physical/occupational therapists. Component 3: Provision of technical assistance to strengthen the Ministries of Health and Social Affairs to support persons with disabilities. Component 4: Provision of technical assistance to organizations for disabled people and local institutions working for people with disabilities. Due to the competitive nature of the procurement, unsolicited proposals will not be considered. All proposals have to be submitted in response to the RFA.
