- The purpose of the program is to encourage health promotion among people with thalassemia by supporting prevention education and outreach activities to increase knowledge about proven prevention strategies, and encourage adoption of healthy behaviors that reduce or prevent complications of thalassemia including prevention of blood borne infections.
