Grant Description: Secretarys Forecast Summary RFA-DP-09-001CDCs Procurement and Grants Office has published a funding opportunity announcement entitled, "Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Research Centers (U48)." Approximately $25,000,000 will be available in fiscal year 2009 to fund up to 33 awards. This FOA will support a network of Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Research Centers (PRCs) that: 1) focuses on the major causes of disease and disability, with an emphasis on underserved and minority populations; 2) improves public health practice through community-based participatory research; and 3) designs, tests, disseminates, or translates effective public health programs at the state and community levels.
