Hepatitis C Treatment Expansion Initiative Evaluation and Technical Assistance Center: This funding initiative will support one Evaluation and Support Center (Center) to conduct a multi-site evaluation of interventions designed to provide Hepatitis C (HCV) treatment in the context of Ryan White funded HIV primary care. HCV treatment is underutilized, due to both resource and capacity issues. In order to expand HCV treatment, the HIV/AIDS Bureau will highlight successful models and provide funding to Ryan White funded organizations to implement these HCV treatment models. Specifically, the Center will conduct a rigorous evaluation and provide technical assistance across selected organizations implementing HCV treatment models. The Center will gather process and outcome data and other relevant information on their effectiveness, including costs, associated with providing HCV treatment to individuals co-infected with HIV, in Ryan White funded primary care settings. The Center will evaluate two cohorts of Ryan White grantees delivering HCV care and treatment to HIV infected populations, and compile lessons learned and best practice models that can be shared with the Ryan White community and other providers to improve access and quality of care of Ryan White services for HIV patients.
