Grant Description
The primary purpose of this program is to provide NNSA inertial confinement fusion (ICF) facility time for university and industry-led High Energy Density experiments. The objective of the NLUF program is to provide facilities (UR/LLE) within an educational research environment, accessible to a broad community of academic and industrial research interests, for use: (1) As tools for conducting basic research experiments in both low and high energy density physics and laser-matter interactions; and (2) In providing research experience necessary to maintain a cadre of trained scientists to meet the Nations future needs in these areas of science and technology.
