Grant Description
CDC's Procurement and Grants Office has published a funding opportunity announcement entitled, "Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) Prevention Projects for Community-Based Organizations." Approximately $43,000,000 will be available in fiscal year 2010 to fund 145 awards. The purpose of this FOA is to develop and implement HIV Prevention Programs that provide HIV prevention services for members of racial/ethnic minority communities (e.g., African Americans, Hispanics/Latinos) in which there may be a high risk for HIV infection and for members of groups [i.e., men who have sex with men (MSM), injection drug users (IDUs), HIV-infected persons] in which there may be a high risk for acquiring or transmitting HIV infection, regardless of race/ethnicity.
