Human Services Research Partnership: U.S. Virgin Islands: The Funding Opportunity Number for this announcement has changed from HHS-2014-ACF-OPRE-PE-0784 to HHS-2014-ACF-OPRE-YR-0784. The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) is interested in supporting research that will explore issues related to social service needs and public welfare systems in the United States Virgin Islands (VI). This grant will support a partnership among researchers, local governments and community-based organizations to define and address research questions relevant to low-income people in the U.S. Virgin Islands and to the Head Start and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families programs. This project will examine issues relevant to the social and economic well-being of low-income children and families in the U.S. Virgin Islands to improve understanding of the service needs, policy, and the most promising approaches within ACF programs to improve the quality of life in the region. Projects must address topics of importance to the Office of Head Start and the Office of Financial Assistance within ACF. - Eligibility under this announcement is limited to accredited public, State-controlled, and private institutions of higher education and to non-profit organizations and for-profit businesses whose primary organizational function is research. Eligible institutions include, but are not limited to, Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Tribally-controlled Colleges and Universities, and Hispanic Serving Institutions applying on behalf of an individual faculty member who will serve as a Principal Investigator (PI).
Faith-based and community organizations that meet the eligibility requirements are eligible to receive awards under this funding opportunity announcement.
