Grant Description: To implement activities to support the Improvement of Local Governance and Increasing Economic Security Program. The focus of USAID/Paraguay's contribution to this Program is to help establish a new level of stability in five specific provinces in eastern Paraguay (Alto Parana, Canindey�, Amambay, Concepcion and San Pedro respectively), in order to reduce the level of violence and criminal activity during the country's transition from de facto one-party rule to multi-party democracy.
