- Grant Description
- Purpose: The primary purpose of the AHRQ Independent Scientist Awards (K02) program is to foster the development of outstanding health service researchers and enable them to expand their potential to make significant contributions to their field of research. The K02 award provides three, four, or five years of salary support and protected time for newly independent scientists who can demonstrate the need for a period of intensive research focus as a means of enhancing their research careers. Applicants must focus their research careers on areas that would have a significant impact on the quality, safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of health care for all Americans. This program represents the continuation of an AHRQ program. Mechanism of Support: This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) will utilize the Independent Scientist Award (K02) mechanism.
