Innovations in Transit Public Safety: TheFederal Transit Administration (FTA) announces the availability of $2 millionin funding provided under the Public Transportation Innovation Program, asauthorized by 49 U.S.C. § 5312, as amended by the Fixing America's Surface Transportation Act(FAST), Public Law 114-94 (December 4, 2015). This is a national solicitationfor project proposals and includes the selection criteria and programeligibility information for Fiscal Year 2019 projects. The primary purpose ofthese competitively selected grants is to identify innovative solutions toreduce or eliminate human trafficking occurring on transit systems, protecttransit operators from the risk of assault, and reduce crime on public transitvehicles and facilities.
