It is suggested that theprocessbe started as soon as possible.Area of Interest 18 - Innovative Concepts Phase II ProgramThe goal of the Phase II Program, the principal R D effort of the ICProgram,is to solicit research that augments research previously funded through thePhase I Program. Only 7 institutions receiving a Phase I grant awarded infiscal year 2004 will be eligible to submit an application for continuationoftheir Phase I projects. It is anticipated that of the 7 institutions whowereawarded a Phase I grant, 2-3 institutions could receive a Phase II award in2006. Industrial collaboration is not required but strongly encouraged.Atleast one student registered at the university is to receive compensationforwork performed in the conduct of research proposed in the application.
