- Grant Description
- The objective for the 2010 fall field work is to continue research focused on the non-breeding season behavior and demography of Island Scrub-Jays. This project will benefit the public by generating data that provides insight into the conservation status of a species listed as a USFWS Bird of Conservation (BCC 2008). Resulting data will lead to appropriate management actions to protect and increase the Island Scrub-Jay population with the goal of reducing the species vulnerability to extinction. By stabilizing the scrub-jay population and implementing management actions to reduce threats, the Island Scrub-Jay could be removed from the BCC list and thus address OMB performance measures.
