LEADERSHIP IN ECONOMIC GOVERNANCE (LEV) program in Ukraine: The purpose of Leadership in Economic Governance is to improve the countrys business enabling environment by leveraging local organizations which have recognized technical proficiency and knowledge, and to strengthen the capacity of those organizations to identify policy corrections and motivate concrete institutional reforms. Proper implementation of market-oriented policies and regulations, sustainable public-private dialogue at the national and local level to promote small and medium enterprise (SME) growth, and enhanced capacity of local analytical and advocacy organizations to drive the public discussion on economic integration will increase the resilience and competitiveness of the private sector. Of particular importance, reducing corruption in the business enabling environment in the near term will be critical to invigorating entrepreneurship and building investor confidence.
