- Grant Description
- The Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) is soliciting applications with the objective of supporting the Presidents Hydrogen Fuel Initiative in developing a pathway to a hydrogen economy. To support this initiative, this DOE Hydrogen Program Announcement seeks to fund the research and development of viable hydrogen storage technologies for on-board vehicular applications. Applications are requested in the following two categories: Category 1: Applications are sought for projects that are supportive of and complementary to the activities of any of the existing Hydrogen Storage Centers of Excellence in Metal Hydrides, Chemical Hydrogen Storage, and Carbon-Based Materials. Such projects must help establish important new technical approaches or capabilities not presently available at the Centers. A funded project may become a Center partner, provided that the applicant signs an existing non-disclosure agreement that has been signed by each of the existing Center partners. Category 2: Applications are sought for independent research and development projects that address one of three technical topics: 1) Materials Discovery; 2) Engineering Science; or 3) Systems, Safety and Environmental Analyses. Applications for this Laboratory Call must be submitted through IIPS at http://e-center.doe.gov to be considered for award. Questions regarding the content of the announcement should be submitted through the Submit Question feature of the DOE Industry Interactive Procurement System (IIPS) at http://e-center.doe.gov.
