Grant Description
The proposed project will generate an understanding of the process used to develop land health assessments, including the data capture and evaluation thus furthering general conservation goals and providing real-life conservation experience to successful resource associates. The recipient will provide resource associates to collect quantitative and qualitative data associated with vegetation, soils, hydrology and ecosystem processes. The land health assessments will provide a fairly detailed description of the seral condition of the vegetation and soil characteristics and the data will assist to identify areas that are potentially at risk of degradation or where resource problems currently exist. This data will be used to generate a Standards Determination Document and a Land Health Assessment as well as be utilized to prioritize areas for restoration specific to sage grouse habitat and renewable energy development.
