- Others (see text field entitled "Additional Information on Eligibility" for clarification)
- Additional Information on Eligibility
- Eligibility is limited to state, local, or other public institution/organizations responsible for commercial airport operations as the certificate holder at airports within their jurisdiction that have incurred increased Law Enforcement Officer service cost after the September 11th, 2001 security mandates. Respective Federal Security Directors' concurrence and verification of post September 11th Law Enforcement Officer presence is required at the passenger screening checkpoint.
- Grant Description
- Pursuant to 49 U.S.C. § 44903(c) and 49 C.F.R. Part 1542, each Airport operator is required to establish an air transportation security program that provides a law enforcement presence and capability at the airport that is adequate to ensure the safety of passengers. This cooperative agreement is part of the cooperative effort of TSA through the FSD and the airport operator to deploy sufficient law enforcement officers to meet their dual responsibility to ensure the safety of passengers and to counter risks to transportation security by partially funding the increased costs of Law Enforcement Officer presence in support of passenger screening activity. "Projects or initiatives that are eligible for funding under this announcement may or may not involve Geospatial (GIS) issues.")
