Eligible Applicants Public and/or nonprofit agencies and organizations, including faith-based organizations and community-based organizations, are eligible to apply under this program announcement. To be considered for funding, applicants must be experienced in providing legal assistance to older persons.
Grant Description
Legal Assistance Grants provide states with a cost-effective way to increase the number of seniors who receive quality legal assistance, particularly the underserved. AoA plans to fund approximately six to eight (6-8) new statewide grants through this competition. Each project will be funded at a federal share of approximately $100,000 - $150,000 per year, contingent upon the availability of federal funds. Public and/or nonprofit agencies and organizations, including faith-based organizations and community-based organizations, are eligible to apply under this program announcement. Federally recognized tribes are also eligible to apply under this program announcement. To be considered for funding, applicants must be experienced in providing legal assistance to older persons. Please note, AoA is requiring all applications for this announcement be submitted electronically through Grants.gov. The registration process can take 3 to 5 days to be completed.
