Limited Competition: Continuation of the Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis Clinical Research Network (NASH CRN) (U01): -Purpose. This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) issued by NIDDK, National Institutes of Health is a limited competition FOA soliciting cooperative agreement (U01) applications from investigators currently supported under RFA-DK-01-025, Clinical Research Network In Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH) to continue the Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis Clinical Research Network (NASH CRN) to study the etiology, contributing factors, natural history, complications, and therapy of fatty liver disease in both children and adults with a particular focus on nonalcoholic steatohepatitis. -Mechanism of Support. This FOA will utilize the cooperative agreement (U01) grant mechanism -Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards. The total amount of funding that the NIDDK expect(s) to award through this announcement is $3.5 million per year for five years; the anticipated number of awards will be up to eight clinical centers (CC) and one data coordinating center (DCC).
